September 2022

Welcome back! A new school year is upon us and this is our 27th year of operating!

We hope you had a great summer and are looking forward to starting the new school term.

We said goodbye to some of our staff who left us in June to go on to new jobs and we want to say thank you to them and also wish Lynn Murray a happy retirement!

We are welcoming nine(!) new members of staff across all of our sites – we hope you all settle in well to Kids’ Club as you get to know the wonderful children we get to see every day.

As of mid September, at Booker and Dovedale we are fully booked up, apart from on Fridays where we still have availability. Woolton has spaces apart from Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

We hope you all have a lovely first half term as autumn starts to set in and we welcome the leaves changing colour, earlier nights and sunny cold afternoons.

As always, if you need anything please get in touch on info@outofhours-kidsclub.com or 0151 306 4775.

Dovedale Management Update – December 2020

Dear Parents and carers of Dovedale Kids’ Club,

It is with mixed emotions that we are announcing that our friend and colleague Jeannette Davies, the Site Manager of Dovedale Kids’ Club is retiring at the end of term.

Jeannette has been the Site Manager at Dovedale for the past 10 years and first started working for the company in 2004.

Jeannette has decided to retire to be able to spend more time with her family.

From January, Sarah Barnard will become the Site Manager and Sonya Ahmed will become the Breakfast Club Manager. They will be supported by Debbie Tambourini as the Junior After School Club Manager.

Sonya has been working for Kids’ Club since 2018 and Sarah has been with us since 1999!

We would like to thank Jeannette for her years of hard work and dedication to the hundreds of children she has looked after over the years. We will miss her so much!

Jeannette wanted to share a message with you all:

Dear Parents,

You will have heard by now that I am retiring from Dovedale Out of Hours Kids’ Club at the end of this term. I have had a long career in childcare culminating in ten very happy years at Dovedale.

I will be very sad to leave Dovedale and Kids’ Club and I know I will miss seeing the children, staff and parents who have made my job at Kids’ Club so rewarding.

Many of you will know that I have two daughters who live in Wales and Holland and I am planning longer visits to them and their families. I have four grandchildren and a great grandson. School pick-ups will be something that I can do as a grandmother! I also enjoy walking, so I plan to continue this during my retirement.

I will be keeping in touch with Sarah and the rest of the staff team and look forward to hearing how our Dovedale family is.

Best wishes to you all.

Jeannette

Returning to Kids’ Club – Dovedale Primary

Dear Parents and Carers, we will be back operating at Dovedale from Monday 7th September and wanted to share the following information with you.

We cannot wait to see you and your children – we really have missed you all so much!

Bubbles:

As previously mentioned, the children will be kept in the same bubbles as they have been in during the school day. For Dovedale this will be in year groups.

Drop off and pick up:

Drop off for Breakfast Club and pick up for After School Club will be at the main school entrance on Herondale Road. A member of staff will be there to sign your child in and out.

Please follow the one way system at the gates per the tape that the school have put up, in line with the school’s procedures.

When queueing for drop off or pick up, please ensure to practice social distancing and stay 2m apart from other people. If you or any member of your household has been displaying any of the symptoms of Covid-19, please do not bring your child to Breakfast Club and ensure you notify the school.

Breakfast Club:

Please make sure your child has clean hands when they arrive at Kids’ Club in the morning. There will be sanitiser stations throughout our site for the children to use.

If you have two or more children attending, they have to be in separate bubbles per the headteacher’s guidance (unless they are in the same class and bubble at school.)

The children will be split between the Infants Hall and the Junior Halls to ensure that there is plenty of space. All of the bubbles will be socially distanced with a space of 2m around each space where possible. Reception and Year 1 will be on the Infants side and Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be on the Juniors side, spread out across the canteen, the music room and the gym.

The children will be served their breakfast and afterwards have table top games and activities they can do.

The children will wash their hands when they are finishing up at breakfast club so they are ready to start the school day nice and clean and we will take the children up to class meeting point per their staggered start times.

Please bear your child’s start time in mind when bringing your child to breakfast club, to ensure that there is enough time with us in the morning to make sure they have time to eat. Please arrive no later than 8:30am.

After School Club

When picking up at after school, please queue at the Herondale entrance. There will be a member of staff there to arrange collection of your child and sign them out. We will get your child ready and bring them out to you.

During the afternoon, the children will be split between the Infants Hall and the Junior Halls to ensure that there is plenty of space.

Following government guidance, we will try to ensure that the children play outside as much as possible and keep the bubbles apart from each other as much as possible.

The children will wash their hands when they come to us and there will be antibacterial gel and foam around the setting that they will be encouraged to use as the session goes on.

Please arrive no earlier than 3:45pm to pick up your child.

We will keep our daily pick up lists as a form of record to state who was in each bubble and which member of staff was with that bubble, in case a child or member of staff reports signs of Covid-19, we can trace who they have been in contact with.

We have a massive amount of fun outdoor equipment that can be cleaned after each use at the end of each session to ensure a wide variety of exciting play. Nothing will be shared across bubbles during each session.

The Bubbles will have their own:

Toys – sets will be rotated on a weekly basis with a wide range of options. They will be cleaned daily and then at the end of the week the next bubble will get that set.

Books – which are age relevant and that can be wiped down.

Tablets and games consoles which will be cleaned after each use

Art and craft selection – Felt tips, pencils, colouring in and class pack art and crafts.

As always, we will do our utmost to safeguard your children and we want to make sure you feel safe and relaxed that your children will be safe with us.

We also want you to tell your children that we have missed them and we are so excited to see them and have fun at Kids’ Club like we normally do!

Kind regards,

Jeannette, Debbie and the Dovedale Kids’ Club Team 🙂
