Out of Hours Kids’ Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be found in the Safeguarding Policy on our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of children, is everyone’s responsibility and is defined by the DfE for childcare providers as:
• protecting children from maltreatment
• preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
• ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
• taking action if you identify or have concerns that children are suffering from, or are at risk of harm
As a provider, our company has a duty of care to children who attend. This means that by law we must take reasonable steps to ensure the safety of the children and to protect them from harm.
All of our staff undertake Safeguarding training and our management team are all qualified Designated Safeguarding Leads.
